Building on the success of our Ostinato Strings library, Ostinato Brass takes phrase‐based sampling to the next level for the brass section. Designed for composers who demand both realism and creative flexibility, this library features meticulously recorded performances by some of the world’s most precise brass players in a world-class recording space.
Using an entirely new approach, we captured separate intervals for various rhythmic building blocks and combined them via an intelligent script. This innovative process allows the engine to construct chords in five different voicings and up to four inversions (with the fourth inversion available only for 7th chords). When you play in the harmonic shift area, the engine intelligently selects the smoothest inversion based on the previous chord, current key, and chord position, ensuring harmonically correct transitions every time.
Ostinato Brass recognizes and plays 12 different chord types—including major, minor, diminished, half-diminished, augmented, dominant, major 7th, and minor 7th—expanding your harmonic palette far beyond traditional triads. This library coexists seamlessly with our other Sonokinetic orchestral products, recorded in the same hall with identical mic positions and even some of the same players, ensuring perfect blending across your orchestral palette.
