Teletone Audio – Retrograde Bass recreates the warm, analog sound of late-60s session bass players while offering modern tools to push the sound into the future. With four vintage mic signals (Direct, Ribbon, Dynamic, Tube), a unique Warped Signal path, and an optional Synth Signal (Square, Saw, Sine waves), this instrument provides a rich, characterful tone. Whether you want classic bass warmth or experimental, futuristic textures, Retrograde Bass is a versatile virtual instrument for Kontakt Player, compatible with all major DAWs.
Four Vintage Mic Signals
Each microphone position offers a distinct tonal character, allowing you to blend multiple signals for a customized sound: Direct Signal – A clean and balanced tone, serving as the instrument’s default setting. Ribbon Mic – Warm and rich, with deep low-mid frequencies for a classic vintage feel. Dynamic Mic – Stronger low-end presence with added bite, perfect for driving bass lines.
Warped Signal – From 1968 to 2068
This unique “Warped” signal path manipulates the original bass samples through bending, shifting, and processing, resulting in lo-fi, textured, and character-rich sounds. You can use it independently for a distorted, gritty tone or blend it with the mic signals for a layered effect.
