Unique Percussion Instruments
Rattletines is a collection of one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted percussion instruments created by Bart Hopkin, a master instrument designer. These instruments are engineered to produce distinct rattles, buzzes, and resonances. Rattletines combines two rows of tines: the upper tines hammering against “anvils” for added resonance, while the lower row offers a cleaner, clearer tone. Instruments like Mahogany and Hacksaw Blades feature metal-wrapped tongues that rattle when plucked, creating a buzzing effect—perfect for unconventional soundscapes.
Recording & Articulations
The library captures tine plucks and percussive hand slaps on the instrument bodies, recorded in two stereo mic positions to deliver clear and dynamic sound. The custom sound-designed FX presets offer additional textures that expand the creative possibilities, allowing you to transform the raw acoustics of the instrument into something new and unique.
